Yeeeeeessssssss…….. you’re reading correctly. Today, I’m writing this blog for a special category of tigers that are unique in existence – white in color with blue eyes. Before I kick-start just wanna know, how many of you have ever heard about White Tigers?? Any guesses, assumptions etc………. No worries…… with this narrative, I am sure you’ll be to determine a hidden gem that exists somewhere in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India is hiding such a large amount of gems in it, Rewa is one such name. It is a small town of northeastern Madhya Pradesh and therefore the erstwhile capital of the Baghelkhand region within the past and Vindhya Pradesh in modern world, which was later merged into Madhya Pradesh.
How I visited Rewa that’s a noteworthy story. I also failed to know much about Rewa but thanks to my friend Sandeep Mishra who is a professional photographer and hails from Rewa. But!!! but!!! but!!! ………….. the foremost important thing is because of this lockdown he was got back to his native town. One day he posted a story of waterfall on his social media, I enquired everything associated to this waterfall and packed myself with curiosity, sole intention just to go there.

Where I stayed in REWA
It was Oct 01, 2020 me and my friend Riya reached our destination around 10:00 AM. The primary thing that was tinkering my mind was to trace detect white tigers. Let me tell you, first white tiger of the planet, MOHAN or we can say founding father of white tigers was caught near Rewa by Maharaja Martand Singh back in 1951. Mohan was raised within the court of Maharaja of Rewa, just a cub when was first captured. Mohan breathed his last at the age of 20 and was laid to rest with full Hindu rites. He was the last white tiger born in the wild.

MOHAN
Isn’t this interesting to grasp!!! In museum of Rewa palace they have Mohan’s mummy. So there were two things at a time that I wanted to determine Mohan likewise my fascination to meet white tiger. Mukundpur Zoo near Rewa is a place where I could see white tiger. Mukundpur is a village in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh State, located at a distance of 478 km from the state capital, Bhopal. The attractive village is surrounded by water bodies on one side and by the forests on the opposite. It got its name from Maharaja Mukund Dev, since whose birthplace it was. This zoo is one such destination where you’ll be able to find a diverse range of big cats, tigers, lions, panthers and most treasured white tigers.
Elaborating a bit on my travel story, I reached Mukundpur that is simply 40 mins aloof from city. I didn’t take a round of whole zoo because white tiger was my magnet attraction. It was an absolutely imposing sight. I waited around 30mins to see RAGHU, of course his royal walk and attitude (it was named Raghu, as a person told me who used to work in zoo). Some beautiful fantabulous natural form grabbed my eyeball making my experience bed much better.

Next stop was Rewa Palace and Museum where I could see Mohan. I bought a ticket to visit museum which is thrown open for public visits. The guide narrated me the entire Royal Family and great history of Rewa Palace. Here I’m going to show you glimpse of museum and palace.

During visit of museum, I got to know that in Rewa, only one family of the world used to make toys of betel nut (supari) so I decided to visit. Kunder family has been doing this work for past three generations successfully.
