Akshay is an enthusiast of Indian culture, history and student of civilization studies. He is infrastructure planner with expertise in sustainable mobility and Inland Water Transport (IWT). He has an experience of six years in research and development sector.
He has completed his Masters in Infrastructure Systems from Centre for Transportation Systems (CTRANS), IIT Roorkee and currently pursuing his doctoral research at IIT Roorkee on sustainable IWT development in India. He has worked on several World bank funded projects and capacity development projects.
He has worked extensively in the state of Uttarakhand at grass root level in social-developmental projects. His great interest in economic and policy area, lead him in co-founding a think tank Centre for Economic Growth (CEG: cegonline.in) for sustainable development in the state.
